A tarot reading is a conversation with yourself. The AI uses your question as a lens — so vague questions produce vague reflections, and closed questions produce limited ones. Here are some principles for asking well.
Prefer open questions
Instead of: "Will I get the job?"
Try: "What do I most need to consider as I approach this job opportunity?"
Instead of: "Should I break up with my partner?"
Try: "What is this relationship asking of me right now?"
Open questions invite nuance. They accept that there is no single correct answer, which means the reading can surface angles you had not considered.
Be specific about the situation
You do not need to write a paragraph, but a sentence of context helps enormously. The AI is not psychic — it works with what you give it.
"I have been offered a new role that pays better but feels less meaningful. What should I focus on as I decide?" will produce a richer reading than "Should I change jobs?"
Questions about yourself work better than questions about others
Tarot is a tool for self-reflection. Questions like "What does my partner feel for me?" put you in the role of observer of someone else's inner life — which the cards cannot access. Reframe toward yourself: "What do I need to understand about this relationship right now?"
It is fine not to have a question
You can simply say: "I need general guidance for this week." or "I am feeling stuck and don't know why — show me what is present." General readings can be surprisingly pointed.
